Communism is a totalitarian system of government. In a communist country, all the land is shared. The government owns all production as well as land. The goods produced on that land is distributed evenly among those who need it.
In World War II, the Soviet Union, controlled by Joseph Stalin, was a communist country. Stalin was able to force a famine making the Soviet Union a communist country. Because there was no private property, Stalin was able to take all of the food that the citizens farmed.
